A local businessman is about to launch a new app to help guide visitors and locals to all the city of Delray Beach has to offer.

The app, which was created by Jeff Dash, is called Delray Beach Experience and the goal is to increase traffic to local businesses especially after so many were hurt by the pandemic.

The app is described as a digital guide to restaurants, shopping, entertainment in and around the city of Delray Beach.

“We also have Delray Beach general information,” Dash said. “Delray Beach best bartenders which is going to be a wonderful category.”

Dash said he started working on the app about a year ago. Users can search businesses by name, view details and offers, get directions and even view businesses’ safety protocols from COVID-19.

“One of the best features about our app is there is an ability for businesses to put in their COVID policies in place so they can update their safety protocols as needed on a regular basis as hopefully things change and get better,” Dash said.

The director of sales at Aloft Delray Beach, Ryan Curran, agrees protocol information is something his hotel guest need to know.

“A lot of people are slowly starting to travel again, Curran said. “So the fact that they can see everything that we’re doing to make sure that they’re safe that our staff is safe is definitely something that I’m sure a lot of people, nervous to leave their homes, will find comfort in,” Curran said.

Curran said the hotel opened about a year ago and they are slowly pulling things back up and as they approach their busier season an app like this can help.

“Absolutely, absolutely, it will definitely be a huge help,” Curran said.

The Delray Beach experience app is available for both iOS and Android and it will be available for download Nov. 1.
